Demand for straw bale builders and eco-renovation is on the rise. Demand for eco-materials is also on the rise. Canadian homebuilders and owners are adopting building practices and products that prove minimal or no impact to environmental and human health. This market demand represents a business opportunity for existing individual builders, renovators, architects, drafts-people and trades-people who wish to broaden their services.

There is also potential for individuals without current experience in the building trades to become a bale builder. You can become a member of an existing crew or establish a new business of your own.

Harvest Homes offers extensive formal and informal apprenticeships, contractor training and designer training courses and consultation to help facilitate your move into this rewarding field.

We are also developing a full Bale Business Start-up program through which we will happily train our future competition. The first graduate from this program will formally launch his venture in western Canada in 2005 (see www.greenplanethomes.ca)
